The writing is exceptional and very unbiased (despite coming from a writer from Denver). There are background stories I was unfamiliar with or had long forgotten. The fights were great fun to relive in play by play manner, and then watch on youtube.

Excellent book – strongly recommend for hockey and non-hockey fans alike!

I read this book because I thought it would give some history of the condom, which I thought could be quite interesting. The book did not take me entirely where I expected it to go, but instead gave great insight into how the Nazis took over people’s property in a stepwise “legal” basis and how they argued within their population that such things were acceptable and “normal.” I learned a lot, it is a good book overall on the history of 1930s Germany.

From the book: Rock, Paper, Scissors – Game Theory in Everyday Life by Len Fisher

Stay if you win, shift if you lose

Bring an extra player in

Set up some sort of reciprocity

Restrict your own future options so you lose out if you defect on cooperation

Offer trust

Create a situation where neither party can independently escape from without loss

Use side payments to create and maintain cooperative coalitions

Be aware if the 7 deadly dilemmas, and try to reorganize the benefits and costs to different players do the dilemma disappears

Divide goods, responsibilities, jobs, and penalties so the result is envy free

Divide large groups into smaller ones

This was a very interesting read for me introducing me to Game Theory and how it intricately affects everyday interactions between people and organizations. Though written to exemplify game theory in simple language, parts of it made me stop and concentrate to fully grasp. The points listed above are ways to use game theory for your personal success in these interactions.

Recommended reading!

At this time, I will concentrate on showcasing one of my favorite new hobbies – photography! I have been doing this now for just over 2 years and really enjoy it.
